Verdict

Captain Cottistock appeared to win easily at Exeter and is likely still improving. Chepstow second De Rasher Counter shouldn’t be far away again but Dr Des has been disappointing so far over fences and there must be a big question mark about the free-going Eureu Du Boulay lasting home. Aintree My Dream has also done most of his racing over shorter trips and was a long way behind POLYDORA and Late Romantic at Newcastle in December. Tom Lacey’s stayer didn’t run up to that form behind De Rasher Counter at Chepstow next time but enjoys a big turnaround in the weights and there may not be much between the pair today. Lough Derg Farmer left previous form behind when bolting up at Carlisle last month so can’t be ignored with Scotchtown probably the pick of the remainder.
