Verdict

LORD RYEFORD is the tentative selection to land this handicap hurdle with a number of dangers appearing to be lurcking in there, amongst them McQueen, Bathwick Breeze and Vintage Fabric. Trained by Tom George who boasts an impressive strike rate when teaming up with Paddy Brennan in recent seasons, Lord Ryeford possess a much lower hurdles rating to that of his chase rating. Connections made full use of the disrepency on his penultimate start and an 11lb rise for that win leaves him looking well handicapped. McQueen is up 23lb for his last jumping win. He did disappoint last time on the level and while he has winning form on good to firm ground, he does look most effective on an easier surface. Bathwick Breeze is the type that his trainer does well with but may be vulnerable to a hold-up type. Vintage Fabric is up an aggregate of 14lb for his two victories. He struggled for most of the journey last time and it was pure guts that got him through. Tony McCoy is an eye-catching booking for the one paced Truly Fruitful who was disappointing last time out. Lord Ryeford is nominated to land this handicap hurdle.
