In depth

Verdict

MULAAZEM has a little to find with Just Like That and Pipers Legend at the weights but comes into this contest on the back of a decent effort and may be up to the task. John Mackie's charge responded well to the combination of a tongue strap and cheekpieces to finish second in a Market Rasen handicap. That was the first time that he's finished in the money in five starts over hurdles and he may be able to go on now that he's found some form. Pipers Legend was out of his depth over fences last time but was an impressive winner of a course and distance seller in July. He is penalised for that but he has the highest official rating of these and should be in the mix. Just Like That was still in contention when falling at Ludlow in a handicap chase over three miles. He made his debut for the yard in a seller here at around two and a half miles and is rated to go well but he has rarely run at the minimum so has a few questions to answer. Bailieborough, Freddie Ed and Nothingbutthettruth are three more worthy of at least a second glance but we'll row in with the in-form Mulaazem. (Ian Ogg)
