In depth

Verdict

Mister Showman, a moderate maiden on the Flat, should do much better over hurdles if his victory on fast going at Towcester is anything to go by and Bridget Andrews' claim aids his cause. However, the recent rain should enable bumper winner BARDD to lose his maiden tag over timber as though beaten when odds-on at Plumpton he looked to be feeling the firm conditions. Neither three-times Flat winner Argus, who has shown nothing to date over hurdles, nor moderate point-to-pointer Caviar D'allen, make any appeal.
