In depth

Verdict

Royal Robe is the class act in this and will certainly find this more his level rather than the Group 3 company he kept at Sandown. He could prove to be well treated, for the Handicapper would surely have given him a higher rating had he had the latest run of St Pancras to go on. Beaten just over a length by St Pancras at Newmarket, that run was given an almighty boost when the latter went on to finish runner-up in the Group 2 Champagne Stakes at Doncaster last week. Course and distance winner Tamarella is well placed to make the running and cannot be left out of calculations, while others to consider include B A Highflyer and Docklands Maximus.
