Verdict

Earlshill finished runner-up here at this time last year and shares the same handicap mark as Subcontinent, who went close at Haydock before disappointing at Ludlow. But several of these are less exposed and expected to improve, including Judge John Deed and Indirocco. The former struggled on his hurdling bow but the latter ran well enough for third at Wetherby before well beaten at Ascot. MYSTICAL CLOUDS is another with plenty of scope and he gets the nod having finished a promising third at Doncaster on his hurdling debut behind stablemate Canelo, who has won again subsequently.
