In depth

Verdict

A wide open bumper rounds off the card and as usual in these events the market will be all important but the principals look to be Or d'Oudairies Phenix Mag and Whisky Magic and the tentative vote is given to Or d'Oudairies. The selection was a fair third behind Bakbenscher last time out is sure to have come on for the run and given nominal improvement looks the one to be on. Phenix Mag rates the main danger on his latest fifth behind Charity Lane but he has already indicated he would be suited by a longer trip and is taken on with this in mind. Whisky Magic is a Maresca Sorrento gelding, half-brother to three winners on the flat and over jumps in France. and hails from a yard that can ready a newcomer so he should be watched in the market. Of the remainder Sherrif Hutton is another that shaped with promise on his debut and is another that is sure to improve but Or d'Oudairies sets a fair standard and he gets our vote.
