Verdict

Kadount has reportedly schooled well at home and Alan King's gelding looks wroth chancing on his chasing debut in a race where Town Crier and Kids Inheritance are rated the main dangers. The selection showed decent form as a novice hurdler last term, winning races at Haydock, Plumpton and Ludlow before being found wanting in better company in the Lanzarote and Imperial Cup. Alan King has wasted no time in putting the son of Our Account over the larger obstacles and he is preferred to Town Crier. Sue Smith's gelding made a winning return in a handicap hurdle at Kelso recently and it is interesting that she puts him straight over fences after that. However, the nine-year-old would need to improve in hurdles form to trouble the selection. Malcolm Jefferson's Kids Inheritance should strip fitter for his return behind the useful My Will at Market Rasen and has to be respected along with Jedd O'Keefe's Beat The Heat, who comes here fit from an encouraging outing on the flat at York earlier this month. Martin Todhunter's Provocative was a dual winner over hurdles last term and is another to consider but Kadount was the best of these over timber and is expected to show his class over the larger obstacles.
