In depth

Verdict

Floradora Do can get Paul Nicholls' day off to a flyer. Kaytess and Popcorn Rosie are others to bear in mind, while Owlesbury Dream has to be respected despite letting her supporters down last time out. Owlesbury Dream made a very pleasing start over hurdles at Huntingdon but was found out under a penalty when last seen out. Still, it is very early days for the Brendan Powell-trained mare and she should not be written off just yet. Popcorn Rosie showed modest form in bumpers before getting off the mark over timber last month. However, that form looks ordinary and she has more to do in this company. Kaytess was another that struggled under a penalty when she finished down the field at Ascot and, although that was a tougher race, she needs to up the ante to get the better of the selection. Especially if Floradora Do delivers on the promise she showed when romping home in a bumper at Taunton last month. The Nicholls team are expected to have their representatives fired up to the Festive period and this daughter Alflora can start the ball rolling towards the bigger prizes on offer.
