In depth

Verdict

Not as competitive as the numbers would suggest and Rutland Chantry appears to hold strong claims of following up a recent Beverley success under a 5lb penalty. The Steve Gollings-trained veteran took advantage of a lenient mark and slammed his rivals by seven lengths at the Yorkshire venue and, as he goes well with give in the ground and for an amateur rider, is handed the TEAMtalk vote. Night Diamond looks held by the handicapper after scoring at Salisbury last month but Summer Cherry was successful for this evening's rider at Lingfield in May and will appreciate the step down in grade after being outclassed in better company on his latest start.
