Mad Carew is the pick on recent form, and is taken to beat Kuster and Pont Neuf. Gary Moore's six-year-old appears to gave a new lease of life this season with victories here and at Lingfield. He has also performed well in defeat and in this mood is hard to oppose. On Official ratings Luca Cumani's Kuster is head and shoulders above these rivals, but he is now a nine-year-old and not the most straightforward of characters. If he is on song today he will be difficult to beat. Pont Neuf won over course and distance last summer and looks back to his best. With the weight he gets from his main rivals he could prove very troublesome. The others make very little appeal and so in what is a fascinating event Mad Carew looks the safest option.
