In depth

Verdict

A very tricky race to get to the bottom of and one that poses too many questions to forward a confident selection. However, something does have to win and there may be some value to gained in giving Nobel Pursuit a chance to redeem himself after a rare below par effort at Haydock last time. The six-year-old won off a mark of 79 here last June and has to be considered as a live danger to them all off his current mark tonight. Crusoe and Marnie are others who will make the race a stiff test for the selection. But they may have to settle for minor honours if Noble Pursuit can put in something like his best. Night Driver appeals as the best of those at longer odds.
