Verdict

This looks a very competitive handicap and NOVELLEN LAD can only be a tentative selection. Kieren Fallon's mount hasn't enjoyed much luck in his last couple of starts but he's only 3lb higher than when beating the useful Mac's Power at Newbury in May and would have every chance from a good draw if reproducing that effort here. Zero Money is in good form but is 6lb higher than when scoring at Newmarket last month, while the handicapper may also have Orpsie Boy in his grip now. New Leyf isn't an easy ride but has ability and can't be ignored. He's more suited to this trip than three-year-old face The Problem. Victorian Bounty has more to do than when winning at Yarmouth, however, and the lightly-raced Dorback is more interesting as he will almost certainly pop up somewhere off his current mark.
