    Verdict

Sulis Minerva would have been interesting but the ground is a major concern, whilst stablemate Magic Secret is a fascinating handicap debutant after romping away with a Redcar maiden last October by 11 lengths. Intercept also catches the eye dropped to sprinting but is yet another unproven on soft. There are no such doubts surrounding MIDNIGHT RIDER for whom six furlongs on soft ground is an ideal combination. Chris Wall's charge was inched out here on his penultimate outing under such conditions and has every chance if forgiven a subsequent Newmarket disappointment. Lady Bayside is respected and Apollo D'Negro would also enter the equation if coming here after his scheduled run at Bath on Friday evening.
