In depth

Verdict

Jo'Burg takes a big drop in class and should easily land this opener, Sri Pekan Two, Magic Mountain and Spinning Crystal may do best of the others. Amanda Perrett thinks the world of this colt and has touted him as one of the best in the yard. Following a promising debut effort he was sent to Royal Ascot and ran a blinder in the Coventry finishing a close up fifth behind Hellvelyn. If reproducing a similar effort today he should leave the rest of this field well behind. Sri Pekan Two showed plenty of ability on his first outing finishing a close up fifth behind another Perrett inmate Prince Of Elegance. He should improve for the run and looks nailed on for some place money. Magic Mountain has similar claims having put in a solid first effort at Newbury last month. The Barry Hills trained Spinning Crystal is superbly bred and should come on plenty for a recent Nottingham debut. L'Oiseau de Feu is one to keep an eye on in the betting, but it is impossible to oppose Jo'Burg who can take this without breaking sweat.
