Verdict

First Voyage gave all of his rivals a head start at Pontefract last week but was only beaten a length-and-a-half at the line. He's sure to have learned from that and will probably be backed to recoup losses. But COMMODITY was doing his best work at the finish over 7f at Newmarket in April in a race that's worked out well. His absence since is a bit of a concern but the fact that he's out again this late in the season suggests he's ready to do himself justice and the extra furlong will suit. Singapore Sling was third on soft ground at Windsor in June while Eljeemi improved to finish fourth at Nottingham in the same month but is another returning from a break.
