In depth

Verdict

Aggravation gets the vote in this handicap over Jill Dawson and Veiled Applause. The selection is a course and distance winner and he won successive races last season when he found his form. He remains on a fair mark and with ground conditions to suit he can go in again. Jill Dawson is a half-sister to Jack Dawson and she scored on her seasonsal reappearance when beating Murrumbidgee at Warwick. If she improves for that run then she will certainly give our selection plenty to think about. Veiled Applause chased home Night Wolf at Brighton last time and he should be in the shake-up again today, although he may need a bit of help from the handicapper before he is able to resume winning ways. Out For A Stroll is from a shrewd yard and could be worth a look in the market, but Aggravation might be worth sticking with now that he has found his form.
