Verdict

ETOSHA can continue Godolphin's recent good form by landing this average-looking maiden, notably at the expense of Lemon N Sugar and Lease of Life. A 340,000 guineas purchase, he's shown up well in two outings to date, notably when finishing runner-up in a similar event at Pontefract last week. His dam is a half sister to Classic winners Barathea and Gossamer. Lemon N Sugar may turn out to be a sweet thing and connections will certainly hope so as she cost $350,000. She's making her seasonal debut for Jeremy Noseda and if progressing from the couple of outings last year can certainly be involved. Lease of Life showed up well with a respectable fourth on debut, and if coming on from that run should give supporters a run for their money. As with all maidens where there being little form to assess a check on the market is essential.
