Verdict

MYMUMSAYSIMTHEBEST can live up to his title here, with Westwood, bogged down in heavy ground last time, and Valatrix others to note. Westwood had been running with great consistency on the Southwell fibresand before scoring here, and although he was beaten subsequently on heavy ground, he ran with credit and will enjoy the return to a sounder surface. A Yarmouth maiden winner last season, Valatrix was just touched off in a Wolverhampton handicap, before running disappointingly at Kempton. Previously reliable, she may not have been at home on that tight track, and she can return to form here. After running a blinder to be sixth in the St Leger Sales race, Mymumsaysimthebest was only run out of it close home in a competitive Goodwood handicap recently. A reproduction of that effort from a decent draw here can see Mymumsaysimthe best lead them home.
