    Verdict

VANITY RULES is more exposed than her rivals but the fact that she started favourite for a Listed contest at Newmarket in the spring suggests she should have the ability to win an ordinary maiden. Richard Hughes rides her in preference to Richard Hannon's pair Foiled and Primo D'Oro so she gets another chance. Proximate has already been gelded but he's a full brother to stable's winning miler Proximity and likely to know his job. He may prove the pick of the newcomers ahead of the Teofilo filly Camisole. The four-year-old Talented Kid has finished second in a couple of bumpers while Speedy Writer and Beep have hinted at ability and still have some scope.
