        Verdict

        Mary's Baby can defy topweight to follow up her maiden win over the course and distance, with Madamoiselle Jones and Aiming her main rivals in this weak fillies only race. Amanda Perret's inmate had been confined to shorter trips until being stepped up to a mile here a fortnight ago, and she looked totally at ease as her breeding suggested that she might, having Bustino's influence on the dam's side. There is no reason why the daughter of Magic Ring should not follow up of a mark of 70, as she should be capable of holding her own into the 80's at least. Aiming was beaten in a run-off-the-mill apprentice affair at Salisbury and looks nothing special, while the same comment applies to Madamoiselle Jones, whose Chepstow victory, gained in similar company to this, was nothing to get worked up about. The rest, Ziet d'Alsace apart, are woeful, and Mary's Baby is the safest option.
