In depth

Verdict

Sholaan had no problem with the drop back to 6f at York last time, winning by five lengths. If in the same mood here, William Haggas' gelding could well defy a 12lb weight rise as neither Silverheels nor Intransigent has shown much this year and Fanrouge has struggled off higher marks since winning at Bath in April. Mezzotint is best on the Polytrack but Fibresand specialist Bella Ophelia was just beaten on soft ground at Newmarket earlier this month and Nassau Storm ran a cracker behind Hezmah at Yarmouth last time. MISS AZEZA hasn't been seen since contesting a Listed race at Salisbury in September but she had no luck at all that day and her debut win at Ffos Las has worked out really well. The second has rattled up a hat-trick this year while the third went on to land a Listed race and the fourth won easily next time. She could be the value at the likely odds.
