In depth

Verdict

The in-form Kapellmeister has an obvious chance off the same mark as when running out the ready winner of a Leicester handicap last week and the Malcolm Saunders-trained gelding is taken to complete a hat-trick at the main expense of Looks The Business and Double Spectre. The last mentioned ran better at Epsom last time and would have claims if improving further on that effort but he remains a maiden and may be booked for a place at best again. A market move for Eastborough would be of interest, while Hatch A Plan, who has not won for two years, has gone up 2lbs for his fair second at Newbury recently and that looks harsh. Meelup is consistent and can be expected to be thereabouts again although a bigger threat may come from Looks The Business, who has run well on the flat and over hurdles of late. Kapellmeister has been in fine form though of late and has an obvious chance of going in again.
