In depth

Verdict

It will be interesting to see how Saviour Sand performs on his first start for 114 days but Mark Rimmer's gelding is probably best watched giving weight way all round over a trip short of his best and preference is for BLACKTOFT, who gets the vote over Dancing Deano. Reg Hollinshead's gelding has been running creditably well in similar races of late and has to be respected but he may have too much to do to trouble the selection at the weights today. Alexander Guru has claims on the pick of his form but just one win from 22 starts tells its own story. Kabis Amigos has lost his way over the last year since leaving the stable of David Nicholls and, while running better in a handicap here last time, he looks best watched. The vote then goes to the Stuart Williams-trained Blacktoft, who has been running to a consistent level of form in similar races of late and he looks to have been found a suitable opportunity to resume winning ways.
