In depth

Verdict

A poor contest which is little better than a seller and stakes are advised to be kept low but Lady Birgitta could provide the answer. Karl Burke's charge is on a very attractive mark and has shown an improvement in form on her last two outings. The five-year-old was a close runner-up in a one-mile Southwell claimer before a staying-on fourth over a furlong less in a handicap at the same venue on Saturday. As long as she has recovered from her exertions, the daughter of Emperor Jones should take some beating on her return to her optimum trip. Flint River is another who has been crying out for this trip after finishing strongly over shorter and has to be respected while Eurolink Artemis is on a lengthy losing sequence but, along with My Bayard, comes here in good heart and also enters calculations.
