      Verdict

An interesting nursery in which EBONY BOOM has a solid chance of making a winning handicap debut. Henry Cecil's colt may have the most fear from Wild Rose and Llandovery on this occasion. Llandovery showed marked improvement last time (Luminous Star was readily brushed aside) and, from just a 3lb higher mark, this son of Auction House should not be underestimated. His previous experience of the course will help him know what to expect in terms of kickback from his wide draw. Wild Rose was all over the place when introduced at Chepstow at the end of August. However, he is obviously a quick learner, though, as he put in a dominant display when storming through with a late surge to score at Kempton 17 days ago. Today's jockey takes 7lb off with his claim and, on these terms, a big run can be anticipated. However, Ebony Boom is also progressing nicely and having acquitted himself well on Lingfield's all-weather surface on his penultimate start; the son of Boreal makes plenty of appeal for a punt today.
