Verdict

CERUTTY is rated 7lb higher than Master Dan and 9lb higher than the filly Panatella, though recent form suggests there isn't that much between the former and the latter. We'll trust the assessor has it right, however, and take Marco Botti's Shamardal colt to make it fifth-time lucky given he's a little less exposed than his likely market rivals. Panatella can chase him home as Master Dan is looking woefully one-paced. It's difficult to see many of the others getting involved with February's Southwell bumper winner Direct Approach having his first run on the Flat at the age of 10.
