Verdict

Recent course and distance winner Ribbons And Bows looks capable of following up here, with My Maite and Charmatic others who can go very well. The selection had proved most disappointing until coming good here last time, when she left them from the home turn to record a four length success over Factual Lad. True enough, she is not well in at the weights here, but after being tried over much further, she now seems to have found her optimum conditions and with that positive on her mind from last time we can see her going in again. My Maite is arguably 6lb well in with the selection on official ratings, and is also a consistent performer. This trip clearly suits and the gelding can go well once more, but the suspicion is that this surface may be against him as he tends to prefer faster ground. Charmatic has gone up 2lb for finishing runner-up to Regent's Secret over course and distance last time, and the trip and surface appeared to suit that day. However, that rise is not going to make winning any easier, but he can again make the frame. For the winner though, we return to Ribbons And Bows.
