Verdict

We open with an ultra-competitive handicap sprint in which marginal preference is for last time out Southwell scorer MONTE MAJOR with Grudge and Stash also considered. An all-weather specialist the selection still looks weighted to win despite a couple of pounds heavier than when first on the Fibresand last time. This race doesn't look any tougher and he has a good strike rate at this track.Grudge ran better than the bare form figure shows last time and has looked much more like his old self since scoring over course and distance in November. His mark remains competitive and his raw speed should get him close.Stash is another to considered has he has scope to improve and is down to a new career low rating while Bookiesindex Boy is on a long losing run but as a result is now looking good at the weights so shouldn't be ignored after a better run last time out.A typically tight sprint that can go to Monte Major.
