In depth

Verdict

In what looks an interesting contest, Momtic is selected ahead of Kilburn and Party Boss. There is a good prize for this race and Momtic, who has been knocking at the door in Group company of late, has to be a leading player at this level. The best of his Nad Al Sheba form, or his British 2004 form, would give Desert Destiny a big shout, although he has something to prove at present, even though his stable is in good form. In any case, with Frankie Dettori booked, Kilworth looks to be the Godolphin operations main hope and, if he recaptures his high-class juvenile form, he will be a danger to all. Party Boss needs to recapture his best form too if he is to play a major part, that form dating back to last year, and, much as St Andrews is smart, he seemed to prefer cut in the ground on Turf and now debuts on the all-weather. Finally, with Shelhom looking the Godolphin third string, we return to the selection, which is Momtic.
