In depth

Verdict

Golden Shine is the one to beat at the weights but there are doubts about both the surface and her ability to produce the required level of performance after an absence of over three months. With that in mind, we'll select SECOND ENCORE ahead of Johnny Hancocks, although there's little to choose between them. The latter, however, seems more dependant on setting the pace and should he go too fast this race may be run to suit one with a little more tactical versatility such as our selection, who won on her sole visit to the track over this trip. Stan Moore's charge ran well in similar company at Kempton last time to advertise the fact that she remains in good form and the filly can take advantage of a nice racing weight. Newcomer Lady Prodee is worth attention in the betting as she's closely related to speedy all-weather winner Lord Deevert and starts life in a modest race.
