A poor stayers' handicap where DIKTATORSHIP is given another chance to score for the in-form Jennie Candlish, while Iguacu and Colourful Move are respected. The selection's recent efforts have admittedly left a bit to be desired, but he went very well for a long way at this track before tiring last time over 2m 1f, and this drop back in trip looks a positive. There is nothing wrong with the wellbeing of the yard's runners at the moment and we will chance him. Purely By Chance was a two-mile scorer at Kempton last month but then thrashed here over a similar trip to that last time. She has fluffed her lines on both runs here and has it to prove both on the surface and over this shorter trip. Iguacu carries a penalty for a narrow Kempton success over 1m 4f earlier in the week and George Baker's gelding is in cracking form at present. In such a weak field he looks likely to go very well, though pedigree suggests that this step up in trip may be the stopping point. Colourful Move has put together nothing more than a solid CV in the context of this race, but he will see out the trip and he didn't appear beaten by the surface when last seen here in October, so he could make the frame. Carr Hall and Squirtle will probably both join battle for the minor honours, but we prefer to chance Diktatorship.
