Verdict

Charlie Appleby trained last year’s winner and FRONTIERSMAN looks a cut above these despite a penalty. A Listed winner at Newbury, his earlier second to Highland Reel in the Coronation Cup at Epsom was an even better effort and he’s taken to stay this longer trip. Watersmeet may prove next best and reverse earlier form over 1m6f at Chelmsford with the returning Curbyourenthusiasm, He’s closely matched with Cape Cova on latest running at Newcastle but Funny Kid’s form is hard to assess arriving from France on the back of a win on the all-weather at Deauville. The rest have a tough task on these terms including the veteran First Mohican, Jukebox Jive and former Ballydoyle inmate De Coronado.
