      Verdict

Imperial Skylight deserves to get his head in front having been narrowly beaten at Wolverhampton on Friday evening but Mick Channon's gelding may have to settle for minor honours again with a better bet looking to be ALMATLAIE, who is preferred to Ride A White Swan. Derek Shaw's gelding has gone down by half-a-length in each of his last two starts, latterly when second to Dhhamaan over course and distance, and he should be thereabouts again racing off the same mark and meeting his conqueror on 6lbs better terms as Ruth Carr's gelding has a penalty to carry. Sirjosh has run better in his last two starts over six furlongs but has disappointed when stepped up in trip before and may do so again today. Herbert Crescent ran well in a couple of handicaps here in the autumn and would have claims if ready for his first start since December but a better bet looks to be Almatlaie. James Unett's filly is less exposed than her rivals after just three starts and should appreciate the return to the Polytrack having been well held at Southwell on the Fibresand last time.
