Verdict

Both Rostrum Farewell and Shore Patrol showed a glimpse of promise on their respective debuts only to go backwards on their latest starts. Capers Royal Star had the excuse of soft ground for his modest effort at Newmarket last time and is better judged on his earlier fourth at Kempton. But this won't take much winning and the newcomer EXCEL BEST may well be good enough to make a winning start given his yard's good strike rate at this track.
