In depth

Verdict

It was only a seller that Red Cell won at Lingfield last month and this represents a stiffer assignment for the gelding today and he may have to settle for a place at best with the vote given to SPEAK THE TRUTH, who gets the verdict ahead of Jolly Ranch. Tony Newcombe's filly opened her account at the third time of asking when landing a maiden over course and distance last month and she has to be considered off what seems a fair mark for her debut in a handicap. Sills Vincero ran better over six furlongs at Kempton last time and has to be respected but she may not appreciate the drop back to the minimum trip. Ruby Tallulah has dropped to a fair mark and is worthy of a mention but it is hard to get away from Speak The Truth. Jim Boyle's runners have shown improved form in recent weeks and this gelding stepped up on previous form when landing a maiden over course and distance last time, form on which he looks the one they all have to beat.
