NOLECCE can gain further reward for his consistency here at the main expense of New Beginning. The selection has won two of his last three starts, both over a mile, but he stayed on in the mud last time at Newcastle and there is plenty of hope that he will get this extra furlong-and-a-half. From 6lb higher he gets the nod. New Beginning has Paul Hanagan booked by trainer John Mackie and the six-year-old stays this far and on his best form would make them all go, although his recent third here might be as good as he is these days. Empress Leizu is 6lb higher than a course and distance win last time but that was a poor race and she may not be up to defying that.
