      Verdict

Joshua's Gold, Quincannon and Writ are three against the field in this competitive opener and the tentative vote is given to Quincannon. The selection has been in good form of late without winning but his latest second behind Motu looks rock solid in the context of this race and off the same mark here he will be hard to beat. Joshua's Gold rates the main danger on his latest second behind King After but he continues to rise in the weights without winning and at likely odds he represents no value. Writ is another that could go well as he won well last time out when beating Ruby Sunrise but he has a penalty for that win and this looks more competitive so he is passed over on this occasion. Prince of Gold is game and consistent and is sure to run his race but he is hard to win with. Of the remainder Border Artist has dropped to a lenient mark and could go well at a price but for the winner we return to Quincannon.
