In depth

Verdict

If APPALACHIAN TRAIL doesn't win this seller then something would have gone seriously wrong so we side with Noel Wilson's runner leaving the likes of What's Up Doc and New star battling for minor honours. Having placed in a listed contest in November before a solid run in that lofty company last time the selection is easily the highest rated of these. His last win came in a similar contest over course and distance so he has to be the call with him still in a bit of form. What's Up Doc looks the biggest danger after landing a hat-trick in this code before a poor run last time. His hurdles form has been encouraging in the main and he should run his race. New Star is a regular at this track and has been running well for some time. He has a mountain to climb at the weights but he should be claiming some minor prizes. Desert Bump looks the only other to consider with his best probably yet to come but at these ratings Appalachian Trail is impossible to ignore.
