Verdict

Givemethemoonlight is taken to come out on top, with Daimajin and Mutarafaa the main dangers in the claimer. Givemethemoonlight is still a maiden after 21 starts, but it is not for the want of trying that the mare has failed to get her head in front. Indeed, she has finished second in five of her last seven outings, and just needs things to go her way to grab that until now elusive visit to the winner¿s enclosure. She only found the in-form Najaaba too good over slightly further in a better affair than this three days ago, and also posted a good effort earlier when only beaten a short-head by Forever Phoenix over the course and distance on Boxing Day. Both bits of form give her solid claims, and with leading all-weather rider Ian Mongan in the plate, Steff Liddiard's five-year-old is the one to beat. It was a day of firsts for Daimajin 10 days ago-first visit to Wolverhampton, first-time tongue-tie, first outing for Gaye Kelleway, and a first victory since scoring on Turf in 2002. He has a bit more to do here however in giving nine pounds to the selection, and may have to settle for a place. Mutarafaa has about six lengths to find on a line through Najaaba, and so Givemethemoonlight is the percentage call.
