In depth

Verdict

Farthing may get the better of topweight Withering Lady, with Il Pranzo and Turn On The Style two others to consider. Farthing has shaped with promise on each of her four outings to date, finishing second on two of those occasions, and looks just the sort to follow in nursery company. She is screaming out to be upped in trip to six furlongs, and her breeding suggests as much, but trainer Giles Bravery obviously feels that she has the speed to win in this company at present. A mark of 72 does not look overly harsh and so she is the pick. Withering Lady obliged at odds-on when scoring at Beverley in July and has held her own in nursery company since. She will go well despite topweight, and holds Il Pranzo on lines through Louphole and Forzeen. Turn On The Style is a pound worse off with Benny The Bus after beating that rival narrowly at Catterick, but in any case neither look good enough to beat the selection. Corniche Dancer gets in on bottom weight and may sneak a place, given that she has taken on better company in the past, but we will stick with Farthing.
