In depth

Verdict

Maadraa is the one to side with here although Apt Son shouldn't be underestimated and Dream Desert merits a market check. Dream Desert is out of a winning mare who makes some appeal on paper but those with experience set him a reasonable standard to aim at and he's probably best watched tonight. Apt Son showed plenty of ability on his first two starts and may have been over the top when never looking likely to justify his favourite's tag at Roscommon on his final start in September. He's respected but there was a lot to like about the selection's debut at Kempton where he stayed on well to fill the runner-up's berth. Neil Callan takes over in the saddle from Matthew Henry and Maadraa could prove hard to beat tonight.
