    Verdict

Lord Avon is best in on official figures but became disappointing after winning at Kempton last May and was tailed off on his latest start back in October. Preference, therefore, is for SECOND ENCORE who won on her only previous appearance in a seller over this C&D in the autumn and wasn't disgraced in a couple of subsequent runs in better company. Eternal Youth was arguably fortunate to keep the race having hampered Captain Dimitrios when successful at Lingfield two weeks ago and David Evans' charge could reverse the placings today, though was always struggling to go the pace when third over C&D last time.
