Verdict

A potentially very interesting maiden in that three contenders with decent form claims are confronted by totally exposed sorts from top yards, all of which makes for a fascinating cocktail. Of the more exposed trio, MUSNAD makes greatest appeal on the back of a highly respectable runner-up effort in a York handicap last October, since when he's not been disgraced over timber. Alfred Hutchinson also looks a likely type for a race of this nature and should have plenty more to come, whilst Southern State and Red Soles are clearly of interest with the Johnston and Hills' yards persevering with them as four-year-olds. Mark Johnston's Street Cry colt is especially noteworthy on breeding but this is a contest in which market moves could well prove especially valuable.
