Verdict

Following horses with a penalty is always a dangerous game as Larad proved when he was held at Lingfield over a shorter trip earlier in the week. However, his connections has seen fit to persevere with him and he looks the percentage call back over this longer trip and is preferred before Angelo's Pride and Cherokee Nation, who appeal as the best of the rest on the terms of the race. Although Fox Hollow has gone well here in the past and could be one to go well at a price if Tony Culhane can force the play with the son of Foxhound. However, he has not really shown much when it comes down to a fight for the line and he is one to be wary of in a tight finish. Therefore, it may pay to give Larad another chance as he is at least better suited to this trip and has the right attitude for the task in hand. The fact that he is set to race for the first time at Wolverhampton does temper the confidence a little and he is not one to go overboard about at a short price. However, the shrewdies will have already earmarked his staying on effort last time and, as this slower surface will bring his stamina into play near the finish, Larad can out-gun his rivals again this afternoon.
