      Verdict

Trainer Marco Botti is double handed in this sprint handicap and although Vanilla Loan will be in warm order after a taking success last time we prefer stablemate VAL C, who has form on this surface, while Papageno also makes this list. Vanilla Loan was a very easy winner of a Yarmouth contest last time and if the penny has now dropped with her she should improve and could take all the beating. That said, her last run at this track leaves plenty of doubts so we prefer to look for some course form. We find that with Val C, who found just the one too good here two starts back. She's 1lb better off at the weights now so despite a poor run back on turf the last time she is taken to banish the maiden tag. Papageno is yet to race at this venue and if taking to the surface will have every chance off this mark after a couple of decent efforts in defeat. Duke Of Rainford is the only course and distance winner in the line-up so also enters calculations despite a high enough looking mark but in a race where Vanilla may be the flavour in the betting we like a bit of Val C.
