Verdict

Sir Bond will take the beating off top-weight although Gem Bien and Stellite should prove stern opposition. Bryan Smart's charge doesn't have too many miles on the clock and he has ran particularly well on his banded outings at Southwell. If transferring that ability to Dunstall Park, it is hard to see the others being good enough. Gem Bien was rated in the mid-80's when with Andy Turnell. Connections seem to favour hold-up tactics these days rather than the forcing tactics he once utilised so well. Stellite rarely runs a bad race at this level. Arguably better if asked to lead, he should run up to his form. The Job makes his debut in banded stakes grade. He has been turned over in claimers and sellers but if there is money for him, it should not be ignored. Night Explosion plugged on for a career best at Lingfield on her latest start but that really isn't saying that much. Sir Bond looks difficult to oppose if taking to the Wolverhampton track.
