In depth

Verdict

Northern Boy can land the opener with the main challengers likely to be The City Kid and Wadnagin. The selection hails from a shrewd yard and he went close last time over this course and distance when chasing home Sedge. He was returning from a break that day so he will surely come on for the run, and with Seb Sanders an eyecatching jockey booking and a good draw he can take plenty of beating. The City Kid arrives here in good form and she was only narrowly beaten here last time behind Vanadium. She will not be far away again here but the draw could have been kinder. Wadnagin has got the plum draw in stall 1 but Ian Wood's filly is probably better over 6f and for that reason we will take her on. Climate is a course and distance winner but stall 10 will make life tough for him, and we will return to Northern Boy who looks to have rock solid claims.
