Verdict

A winner over 1m4f, The Steward represents Sir Mark Prescott and like many of the trainer's charges will likely improve stepping up in trip. He has to come into the reckoning while Glan Y Gors went close at Chelmsford stepped up to 2m last time with Villa Royale well beaten. But GRAND MEISTER (NAP) makes more appeal having won over 1m6f at Wolverhampton before running well again in Class 2 company over today's trip at Lingfield. John Quinn's charge is also preferred to recent Chelmsford winner Oratorio's Joy with the latter stepping up in class for this.
