In depth

Verdict

Aguila Loco has winning course and distance form and is taken to return to winning ways at the main expense of Silver Mascot and Chantry Falls. The last mentioned has his first outing since finishing a close third in a Leicester claimer in October but comes here fresher than most as a result. However, this is his first start on the all-weather so an ability to handle the surface has to be taken on trust. Reg Hollinshead had two winners at Doncaster on Saturday so his stable is in good form at present and his representative Silver Mascot could hardly be in better form himself coming here on the back of an easy win in a seller over course and distance last time. This represents a step up in class for the son of Mukaddamah but the booking of Darryll Holland is a positive one and he is entitled to be thereabouts. The vote though goes to Aguila Loco. Stef Liddiard has done really well with her runners here during the winter and, while the five-year-old has looked to be in the grip of the handicapper in three starts since scoring over course and distance last month, those outings have all been over shorter. The return to seven furlongs may bring about improvement in Aguila Loco, who may prove to be too classy for his rivals.
